March of Dimes Information for Patients

As part of our work to promote folic acid, the March of Dimes offers a number of valuable resources that providers can use with their patients, including educational brochures. 

Physicians and other health care experts review all clinical information presented in our materials. All clinical information is based upon scientific research and the collective experience of practicing physicians. We review all material regularly to ensure that it is accurate and appropriate.

The Pregnancy & Newborn Health Education Center^SM at the March of Dimes provides information and referral services for the general public. Information specialists, with master's degrees in various health fields, can answer your patients' questions about folic acid, neural tube defects and other birth defects, pregnancy, childbirth and genetics.

The information and referral services complement the education provided by health care providers. They are free and confidential.
